PACIFIC BEACH, Calif. (BP)--Today was an extremely laid back day for the most part. We all got to sleep in and recover from having to get up incredibly early and a full day of excitement yesterday. It was very relaxing and fit my physical needs for the strenuous trip ahead of us.

Today, we had a meeting about whether or not to watch R rated movies on the bus. Personally, I don’t think that I need to be dealing with any movie of that nature because I know being exposed to that it can easily affect my spiritual walk. I don’t think that anyone was up for watching those types of movies, but some people did think that some R rated movies, such as The Patriot, were not inappropriate for them. I don’t doubt anyone’s judgment, so if they wanted to watch that, I would not have a problem. I just ask that I could go somewhere else and not be forced to watch it. In the end, the consensus was to not watch any R movies at all, and to seriously examine the PG-13 movies we play.

In my quite time, I read over my absolute favorite chapter of scripture: Isaiah 40. It is so real in revealing God’s splendor and greatness. Anytime I’m down or just have some spare time I like to read it. Somehow it never loses its power on me and always draws me in to the Word. I’m glad I read that tonight because tonight threw me for a loop.

For a surprise, we were all taken to a San Diego Padres baseball game. However, Josh found what we were doing at dinner and somehow it leaked to all of us. This was kind of disappointing because one of our crewmembers, Ron, put all of this together and wanted it to be a complete surprise to us, and WE wanted it to be a surprise also.

Also, six of us went to get something to drink during the middle of the game. After we found the three different food stands, we set up for some reaction shots about how we liked the game so far. Our camera guy wanted to film us walking up the escalator and then get some good scenic shots from the top of the stadium. After this, he stopped the camera and let us talk to him and him talk to us on a very comfortable, one-on-one basis. It was really relaxing and let us get our minds off of things, plus it shows that the camera man really cares about us and what is going on. We headed back to our seats and we found that the chaperones were a little mad at us for taking so long and not telling them where we were going. It got some of us a little angry that they immediately blamed the young people, and did not even ask what why we were late. Our camera guy even called back and told some of the other crew what we were doing.

I had a great day, and it was better than I think any of us could ask for or deserve. I’m ready for an awesome day of surfing and hanging out on the beach tomorrow.
