TruthQuest Journals:
Josh
YOSEMITE,
Calif. (BP)--Today was an incredible day. I had so much fun.
When I first saw the small rock that we were going to be climbing
and repelling down off of I was very upset. I really wanted
more of a challenge then that. I was really worked up over
the whole thing, and then it seemed as though we were getting
ripped off. After we finished with the small rock they told
us that they had a surprise for us. We walked a few hundred
feet from where we were to a taller rock. This rock was gigantic.
I didn’t think we were going to climb it, but we did.
It was so much fun. It was about 140 ft. tall. It was so hard
to climb too. I loved the challenge that it gave to me. It
literally is one of the hardest things that I’ve ever
done. I was so happy that I did it though.
Once I got up to the top the view was so gorgeous
that I could hardly speak. It was literally breath taking.
That is kind of like a spiritual life. You work so hard to
get closer to God, but it takes a lot of work. If you don’t
find the right stepping-stone then you will fall. That is
why you should let Jesus be your stepping-stone. Chip is a
good example of this. We made a bet that if he didn’t
make it up to the top of the cliff then I could shave his
head, but if he did then I would have to ware a shirt that
said, “Biker Chick” on it and ware make-up. I
ended up losing the bet and got a little upset, but I was
really proud of Chip. He did an awesome job and earned every
bit of the bet.
Later that night we went to eat dinner. It
was so good. Before dinner we all went out by the river and
waded in it. Everyone wanted to take a picture on the log,
so I took one for the team and dove into the water. I grabbed
all the cameras and took the picture for everyone. I really
wish I could have been apart of the picture, but I think I’ll
survive.
